Entering a New Age of Discernment
The food production and supply systems across our regions, nation, and the world are now interlinked tightly. This is everyone’s issue. Organizations like the Chesapeake Bay Foundation will become even more important in upcoming years as we will all have to make decisions that require careful, thoughtful decision making. Access to the best science and public awareness will be key to whether we collectively chart a course that assures water and food supplies remain robust, free of pathogens, and equitably available to everyone.
The University of California Bren School of Environmental Science and Management has a promising vision of how we can sustain and innovate in food production from the oceans during these changing ecological decades.
