Beautiful pictures Susan – faves were of course the trees and moth and geese crossing the street. Am visiting my sisters and brother in Pa for the month of Oct. building puzzles, reading and doing family things. Have moved in with son, Jay when in KY. 510 Lansdale Ave. 42101. All is well. Am practicing staying Now and acceptance. No sunshine for 9 days here. not much walking. Patience.Always love –

Thanks for the update! It does sound good and rich with meaning. Tell Jay I send my best and get to that writing! I’m revising the book I wrote in BG about regenerative farming for a small press in Vermont. Keep your fingers and toes crossed that they accept the novel. About regenerative farming and women in farming. Thanks for address. Enjoy those Bros and Sisters. You know what song was in my mind upon waking today? An old old song my grandparents sang at a tiny Methodist church at the base of the hill on which their farmhouse stands, to this day. As children we would attend Sunday school there and the locals with their heavy Appalachian “twang” sang their hearts out. “Let’s go down to the river to pray.” There are dozens of variations but its most likely an African spiritual from the dark days of slavery. I played Allison Krause’s version this morning. Brought back a flood of memories from childhood, Appalachia, and my grandparents. So poignant now after Hurrican Helene has left much of Appalachia in ruins. Let’s chat soon.!
