A Republic – If We Can Keep It

Benjamin Franklin’s famous response to Elizabeth Willing Powell at the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, rings with great meaning today.

Our Republic’s integrity, its very existence, will be decided on this day in American history. Let’s ask Mrs. Powell’s question today.

Well, Dr. Franklin, what have we got, a Republic or a Monarchy?

  1. I am reading “How Civil Wars Start” by Barbara F Walter. It is distressingly clear why societies around the world are under so much stress.

It’s probably not climate change (yet). When an in-power group starts to lose power, that is when people fight. Millions of non-white people are flooding into the US and Europe, fleeing social chaos, famine, and war. And the resident power groups are fighting back.

hold onto your hats. The fun is just starting.
